The weather remains unpredictable, but we’ve had a lot of lovely days at Sunday School. We’ve spent some time on a new activity of nature logs in observing the world around us and making Zine’s of our findings.
A zine is a short form magazine entrenched in DIY culture, a culture that aims to move art away from institutionalized publishing and companies and into the hands of communities and artists.
Did you know that 2SLGBTQIA+ communities have been historically entrenched in DIY culture in order to avoid censorship by conventional media and the government?
While we have only started this short project, I hope that we can further explore zines as an avenue of self expression and also have some discussions on the importance of inclusion in faith. Also, school is coming to a close soon.
Happy Pride Month, Glebe!
